Route of the Iberians
The territory of Puebla de Don Fadrique has some of the best examples of archaeological sites of the first millennium BC in eastern Andalusia. Unfortunately none of them has been the subject of an archaeological dig still allowing them to value and musealizarlos, but given the exceptional preservation of the same is possible to visit and appreciate the potential of these and its historical siginificado.
This tour will visit two Iberian settlements, Molata of Casavieja and Cerro de la Cruz, and a small Roman castellum, Cerro del Trigo, which is spread by the municipality of Puebla de Don Fadrique, complementing existing information about them in Municipal Museum. These fields are inserted in the historical context of the conflict between Rome and Carthage imperial for control of the Iberian Peninsula, which will end with the extermination of the Iberian elites of this country and its romanization or inclusion in the Roman state formation, a lengthy process lasted nearly two hundred years (between the third century BC and BC).

Access to Casavieja Molata of the road is made of Murcia, being the site north of the town of Almaciles, west of Casavieja farmhouse. Your access can be difficult, so it is necessary to wear suitable shoes for promotion.
Access to Wheat Hill road is made by Mary, turning off to the farmhouse of Bugéjar by a farm track, passing north of the hill. Access to the site has little difficulty, and we recommend its site visit, which can recognize much of the floor of the Roman military barracks.
Access to the Cerro de la Cruz is by the same route as above, reaching the farmhouse of Bugéjar. The site is located east of the farmhouse, in a pronounced hill, which has a medium difficulty for promotion, so it is recommended to wear suitable footwear for mountain.
